Corruption
In Cambodia, the political elite has made huge profits from sand, oil, gas, and mining extraction activities which have had devastating social and economic consequences for the Cambodian people.
Corruption on a large scale is a form of economic pillage that deprives citizens of their right to benefit from economic development and good government. This economic crime would punish individuals for the most serious violations of the United Nations Convention against Corruption.
